Buffet breakfast in Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas

The staff are absolutely superb, whatever training programme they go on, it works! Could not have been more helpful, smiley and welcoming. Breakfast absolutely delicious. Has the same things as most five star hotel buffets in terms of western and Asian selections, but the quality of pastries, juice shots etc were excellent. NB you can eat in either restaurant for breakfast no matter where your room is - the one on the beach side is much nicer and the kids can feed the fish there too. 12 year old and 8 year old both entertained with the bikes cycling around the beautiful site and the teen club with air hockey, pool table, climbing walls and computer games (sigh!). Pool area has loads of sunbeds so never ran out of those. Local massage service and two local restaurants right outside on the beach - one hr massage for 500 bht. Beds very comfortable. We had a two bed family suite which is a bit further away from the beach (but reflected in the price). Had a washing machine and dryer which was useful plus electric hob, microwave, kettle etc. Could self cater if you wanted to.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. If 6 star exsistes this hotel would be 6 star. Staff were exceptionally polite attentive and charming. The beach was absolutely beautiful. The areas around the Infinity pool were exceptionally comfortable and luxurious. The food is very high quality and expect to pay uk prices for everything. The chef is fantastic and all the food is the highest quality. But you won't benefit here from the less expensive Thai prices. There are a couple of cheaper thai restaurants on the beach right next to the hotel and then there are some others walking distance and we didn't go further than that. I'm sure you can get a cab to other nightlife and restaurants nearby. (Check that if that's what you want) Our room was massive and we got a free upgrade upon arrival. It's a big hotel and we had to get a tuck tuck to get around but they are very prompt when called and so friendly. Breakfast was gorgeous and loads of choice and a beautiful setting I would recommend this for those who want luxury but be mindful you will spend a lot of food and drinks if here the entire time

Hotel setting and surroundings are beautiful and the design/layout is very relaxing. The villa's are very well equipped and an oasis of calm if you just want to relax in your room. Staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. Genuinely looking to improve your stay. We had an issue one morning caused by the hotel but the manager found us later on and apologised and sorted everything out, including some complimentary items - he completely defused the issue. The retention rates for staff is very high at the hotel and it's clear the staff enjoy working there. Food was really very good. Three varied restaurants with very good food. The Treehouse (Japanese) was excellent, but book in advance. The hotel may seem pricey at the outset but it's worth it. There is a reason why there are virtually no bad reviews.

i was touched by the exceptional service. i have stayed in hundreds of hotels, and i never experienced in my life such outstanding service before Mai Khao’s Anantara. i was actually shocked by the lady working in the reception: her genuine consideration was palpable. she offered to call the airport and ask about our check in, which is so sweet of her considering we didn’t speak the language. she even asked if we would like to have a taxi booked for us in the morning, because they are hard to come by in such an early hour. AND she was more than happy to offer us a prepackaged breakfast since we were going to miss it. i doubt i will ever experience such a lovely host like her again. many, many hotels have got to learn how to bring back such service.
